Asked before you have to ask
How do I say the company name?
On·er, like honour, without the H. It's our co-founder Onur's first name, and in Turkish it means honour. We thought that was worth building a company on.
Do you do the installs yourselves?
Roof work is done by CEC-accredited installation crews, the same standard the industry's best use. What's different is that Onur, a senior electrical engineer with 15 years in solar, reviews and signs off every job, and the quote, warranty and aftercare all stay with us. No call centres, no handballing.
Is the quoted price really fixed?
Yes. The price on your written quote is the price you pay, and the performance figures on it are warranted in writing. If a site inspection changes anything, you get a new written quote before any work is booked. Never a surprise on the day.
Feed-in tariffs are nearly zero. Is solar still worth it?
Yes, but for a different reason than in 2015. You save by not buying 4–9pm peak power, not by exporting. That's why we size for self-use and why batteries increasingly carry the maths. Your quote shows both paths side by side.
How do I pay? Is finance available?
Fixed price, standard progress payments, and interest-free payment plans are available on approval. The quote shows the cash figure and the plan figure side by side. Same panels, no padding.
What happens after the install?
The Honour Check: at day 14 we compare your real generation against the quote and call you with the comparison. Then you hold a 10-year workmanship warranty with a founder's mobile number on it.
Do you have a referral program?
Tell Your Street. Every installed system gets a number: give yours to a mate and they get $500 off their install plus a queue-jump; you get $500 when their system switches on (or $650 as credit toward your next Onur job). A third referral inside twelve months bumps both sides to $750. It's the question we end every Honour Check with, made official: would you tell your street? Full terms at onurenergy.com.au/street.
Do you do hot water and air-conditioning too?
Yes. Heat pump hot water and reverse-cycle splits, quoted the same way as everything else: fixed price in writing, the working shown. Worth knowing: Victoria requires gas hot water to be replaced with efficient electric at end-of-life from March 2027, and the Solar Victoria rebate (up to $1,400) needs pre-approval before installation. We lodge it before anything is booked. And no, a compliant "free heat pump" doesn't exist.
Do you install EV chargers?
Yes. Smart wallboxes set to solar-first by default, so the car drinks your excess sunlight before the grid sees it. Charging on your own solar runs at cents per 100 km against roughly $14 for petrol. Typically $1.5–3k supplied and installed, fixed in writing. Where a bigger unit needs network permission, we handle that paperwork.
