Heat pump hot water · Melbourne & Victoria

The battery you already own.

A heat pump heats water about three times more efficiently than a resistive element, and put on a midday timer, it stores your rooftop solar as hot water for the evening. That's storage you were about to pay thousands for, hiding in a tank you already need. Switching from gas saves a typical household around $400 a year on Solar Victoria's own figures, and cuts water-heating running costs by 60–75%.

Victoria has also made the timing official: from 1 March 2027, gas hot water systems must be replaced with efficient electric at end-of-life. If your gas unit is over ten years old, you're not deciding whether, just whether you do it on your schedule or a cold-shower morning.

The rebate stack

Solar Victoria hot water rebate up to $1,000, or $1,400 for locally-made units, stacked with a Victorian Energy Upgrades discount: together up to ~$2,030 off. Income and eligibility rules apply, and we do the paperwork.

The honest bit

The Solar Victoria rebate requires pre-approval before installation, so sign nothing anywhere until it's lodged. We lodge first, always. And there's no compliant "free heat pump": the program requires a minimum customer contribution, so treat that ad as a warning label.

Suits you if

Your gas or electric hot water is nearing end-of-life; you have solar (or you're adding it, and we size for the load); two or more people shower under your roof. We show the sizing working: litres per day, your tariff, your tank.

Every design is checked and signed by Onur, a senior electrical engineer. Plumbing and electrical compliance certificates included, fixed price in writing.
