A reverse-cycle split is the most efficient heater you can put in a Victorian home, and in the solar hours it runs for cents. Pre-heat or pre-cool while the sun's paying, and the 4–9pm peak loses its sting. Replacing gas ducted heating or an old resistive electric heater can also qualify for a Victorian Energy Upgrades discount at the point of sale.
Sized room by room
Not "one big unit and hope". Each room gets the kilowatts it actually needs, with the sizing working shown: room dimensions, orientation, insulation, your tariff. Oversizing wastes your money; undersizing wastes the machine.
